ESAs approval of State Support Agreements

On 17 July 2020, the IEFTA Surveillance Authority (“ESA”) approved the provision of state aid by the Norwegian government to Longship based on the conditions set out in the application for approval. This funding is provided in accordance with the Energy and Environmental State aid guidelines. The guidelines allow for up to 100% state aid in the realisation of CCS projects. Only “eligible costs” may be covered by the state.
